By the time we got to Woodstock
We were half a million strong
And everywhere there was song and celebration
And I dreamed I saw the bombers
Riding shotgun in the sky
And they were turning into butterflies
Above our nation
We are stardust
We are golden
Billion year old carbon
Caught in the devil’s bargain
And we’ve got to get ourselves
Back to the garden.

I was a hippy wannabe in 1969, only 15 years old at the time. But I wore the long hair parted in the middle, wire-rimmed glasses, jeans with bell-bottoms, and listened to all the music of the era. Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Santana, CCR, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Crosby, Stills Nash and Young, Jimi Hendrix, etc. Make love, not war and all that. Give Peace a Chance.
