This railway line is highest and longest highland railway line in the world. After the Great Wall, this would be the next main reason to visit China. Don't forget to visit Tibet please.

very nice picture.
This was a controverial project, though. It was protested by many of the Tibetan people & people concerned with Tibet. They are very concerned with the numbers of Chinese people that will be moving to Tibet, also the environmental impact of the railway on their farmlands, etc...& the influx of investors. Not that the Tibetans could do much about it.

l>t - Humans are intruding further and further into nature and eventually no place will be unmolested. I am sure that this will bring much more tourism to Tibet, but as with the Grand Canyon and other Natural Parks and Forests in the U.S., with tourists and an influx of settlers comes pollution and environmental damage. It's a shame. The scene in this picture is so beautiful...for now.
